It took some time to get it up and fully functional but we are happy to announce that our 4K HDR Scanity is officially up and running!
Capable of handling 35mm, 16mm, Super 8, and 8mm film, the Scanity is a versatile machine that offers real-time 2K and 4K digitization
Supporting shrinkage up to 5%, the Scanity is perfect for archival collections as it relies on a smooth, pinless film transport system. Unlike many scanners, the Scanity does not require perforation repairs and can even scan film that was never perforated. The gentle design avoids friction and abrasions as only the edges of the film come in contact with rollers. Delivering impressive stability and focus, the Scanity also scans more of the nominal picture height, capturing the edge of the frames above and below. This vertical over-scanning helps to correct shifting frames and splices.
Perfect for nitrate, diacetate, triacetate, and polyestar film bases, the Scanity joins our two Spirit telecine workhorses: one a 2K and the other Classic HD/SD, as well as Magna-Tech sound followers for double system and full coat mag.
From black-and-white to tinted, toned and color film, from silent to optical and magnetic soundtracks, the team at George Blood LP can help you with your film scanning needs.
